I'm frequently asked why I chose the career in which I work. In a nutshell...

I loved every moment of being in college. I majored in psychology and minored in chemistry; plus, I had near-minors in English, Asian Studies, math, art, and biology. The only problem was, my studies didn't guide me toward a career path. I knew that I wanted to help people on all levels: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. The answer arrived when I experienced my graduation present for myself - my very first therapeutic massage. I knew immediately that I wanted to help others feel the way I did after that first session.

My first of many massage schools was Mueller College of Holistic Studies in San Diego, CA, where I received basic massage training and instruction in acupressure. After that, there was quite an explosion in the number and variety of massage schools in Arizona. I have had the majority of my training at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA) in Tempe.

In 1997, I added the energetic healing art of Reiki to my toolbox. Along with practicing it, I also teach classes for individuals and small groups.

A client mentioned hearing of Bowenwork in 2009. I decided to investigate the practice and fell in love with it. While the training is very rigorous, the practice is non-invasive and seems effortless. I routinely use it on myself to keep myself active and pain-free!

In addition to my bodywork and energy work, I am also an artist specializing in a combination of pen and ink and watercolor. My husband Loren and I are proud to be new residents of the beautiful island of Grosse Ile, Michigan. I am quickly adapting to being a "Forest Frau"!

In our spare time, we love to travel. After several visits to the Netherlands, I decided to learn Dutch. I'm excited to say that at this point, I have achieved a "B1" designation. It's far from being fluent, but I'm getting there!
